Bet One - Ken Doherty to beat Liang Wenbo -2.5

The young Chinese player may be a bit of an unknown quantity but I'm expecting Ken to win this quite comfortably. Former champion and three time finalist, Ken is one of the best players at winning when not playing at his best and this, combined with the fact that Wenbo is making his debut at the Crucible and is bound to be under a lot of pressure (Ding got walloped by Ronnie in first round last year for what its worth) points towards a win for the Irishman. Wenbo's safety game is not all that it might be aparently, unlike Ken who has a superb tactical game and once Ken gets on top I can see him letting up. 10-3 or 10-4 I reckon so I think Ken -2.5 at just short of evs is a decent poke.

A New Approach.....

Having taken a few bad beats in recent weeks I have to admit to having lost the stomach for 'proper' punting and am going to change tack for a while. The plan is pretty simple, starting with €10.00 I'll be trying to double up a series of bets to a value of €500. I've tried this before with mixed success but have found it difficult to plunge the growing bank on one bet and so this is the reason for the modest target. I will take a maximum of six bets to reach the target so here goes.....
